آقای محمد عارف محترم،

از نامۀ مورخ 21 اکتبر 2005 شما به خانم وایس، وزیر فرهنگ، که بضميمه آن فراخوان کمیتۀ بین المللی برای نجات آثار باستانی دشت پاسارگاد را برایشان فرستاده بوديد بسیار متشکریم. خانم وایس از من خواسته اند که به شما پاسخ بدهم. ایشان به اهمیت و ،متأسفانه، خطری که میراث ِ فرهنگی ِ جهانی ِ یونسکو را تهدید می کند، آگاهند و از شما به خاطر تلاشتان در این زمینه تشکر می کنند.

از آنجایی که در اين مورد پای یک میراث جهانی فرهنگی در ایران در میان است، من نامۀ شما را به بخش مربوطه در وزارت خارجه ارجاع خواهم کرد.

همچنين، نسخه ای از نامۀ شما را، با اجازه، به «شورای بین المللی نگاهبانی از میراث های فرهنگی»* خواهم فرستاد که در گزارش جهانی خود پيرامون «آثار و اماکن در خطر در سال 2004 و 2005» **در بارۀ در مخاطره قرار داشتن پاسارگاد نيز توضيح داده اند.

Dear Mr. Mohammad Aref,

Thank you for your letter of October 21, 2005 addressed to Ms. Weiss, the Minister of Culture, to which you had attached the open letter of The International Committee to Save the Archeological Sites of the Pasargad Plains. Ms. Weiss has instructed me to answer your letter. She is aware of the importance and, unfortunately, the dangers that threaten UNESCO's world cultural heritage and sends her thanks for your endeavors.

As your letter relates to a world cultural heritage that is situated within Iran, I will forward it to the relevant section in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

I will also send a copy of your letter, with your permission, to ICOMOS*  (www.icomos.org; michael.petzet@blfd.bayern.de, Tel: 089-2114-260). Iin their "World Report on Monuments and Sites in Danger 2004-2005", they have already mentioned the dangers that threaten Pasargad.
